Our NHS Heroes continue to work with the biggest challenge that the NHS has ever seen. We are so proud to support our teams, working on the frontline of the COVID19 pandemic.
Our ‘Helping Your Hospitals’ appeal has been launched, so that we can fund additional wellbeing packages, and other support to our amazing staff.
Thanks to the support of our generous communities, we have been able to purchase items such as:
- Fridges for teams to store cold drinks in. Staff who are wearing PPE get extremely hot and uncomfortable- being able to have a cold drink on a break makes the world of difference.
- Snacks and refreshments for our teams who are on long shifts.
- Walkie Talkies, improving communication across the different wards.
- Toiletries for staff who are showering at the end of their shift.
- Radios for isolation wards.
- Practical assistance and support.
You can find out more about how your support has directly helped our teams, here. We have been focussed on providing staff wellbeing projects, and you can find out more, here.
We are listening to what the teams across East Kent Hospitals need, and responding quickly to requests to improve wellbeing.
Its due to our donors and supporters that we are able to provide these initiatives in these unprecedented times. Thank you so much for your ongoing support.

NHS Charities Together Funding Grants
You will recall how Captain Tom raised over £30 million during the summer, as well as countless other fundraisers up and down the country.
These funds went to NHS Charities Together- a member organisation representing 240 Hospital Charities, of which East Kent Hospitals Charity is one.
These funds have been and will continue to be distributed between these hospital charities by way of grant. To date, we have received £422,000 from NHS Charities Together Grants, and we wanted to tell you a little bit more about how these funds have been used to benefit our staff and patients. You can find out more information, here.
