Tiny Toes is our campaign which supports EKHUFT’s baby units.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate are specially designed and equipped to care for poorly new-born babies.

The NICU is a specialist intensive care unit with 25 cots. They provide intensive care for new-born babies from across the region. The SCBU has 14 cots in total, including 2 high dependency.

£38,000

spent in 2022/2023 on projects and initiatives

The team in the Special Care Baby Unit were absolutely amazing and we wanted to raise money to give something back. We donated £100 when Vincent left the unit and always said we would raise more because we will be forever grateful to them for everything they did for us.

The team at NICU do amazing work and they did all they could to support Phoenix to ensure she could have the life every child deserves. But none of it would be possible without the support of the NICU team so we wanted to give something back by raising money for East Kent Hospitals’ Charity’s Tiny Toes appeal, which supports the unit.

Joe, Family Friend of Phoenix

It was one of the most stressful situations I have ever been in. I didn’t know anything about the NICU – even though I work in the hospital I’d never been there or had any involvement with it, and it was a whole other world. But the staff were amazing and even though it was such a traumatic time we felt we were in really good hands. Tiny Toes was the obvious choice when it came to fundraising.
