How it works:

Payroll giving allows you to donate directly from your salary through your employer. The donations are taken before tax is deducted. Giving via your payroll means your donations will be increased by the tax you would have paid. For example, if you decide to give £10 a month, it will only cost you £8 if you pay tax at the basic rate, £6 on 40% tax and £5.50 on 45% tax.

Benefits:

·        It’s easy and convenient, coming straight from your salary.

·        It’s tax-efficient and costs less to give more.

·        Donation amounts can be changed or stopped at any time by informing your payroll department.

Another option is to simply donate the pennies from your payslip to East Kent Hospitals Charity. This type of giving happens after you are taxed, but this means we can claim gift aid on your donation. This boosts your donation by 25% and costs you nothing.

If you earn £1000.10p, then you keep the £1000 and donate 10p to Charity. The most you can ever give is 99p each time you are paid.

Signing up to Microhive is simple, easy, and effective! Small change really can make a big change to our hospitals.
