The event took place at the Crescent Turner Hotel in Whitstable, bringing together families who have welcomed a ‘rainbow’ baby and been supported by the team during their journey.
The term ‘rainbow baby’ is often used to describe a baby that is born after the parents have a pregnancy loss. The name draws on the symbol of the rainbow, representing hope and beauty after a dark time.
The special event was made possible thanks to funding from East Kent Hospitals Charity. The charity also continues to support the Small Steps team by funding items such as memory boxes and other resources that offer comfort and care to families during difficult times.
The Small Steps team expressed their heartfelt thanks to East Kent Hospitals Charity for their ongoing support, which plays a key role in helping families who have experienced baby loss. They also extended their gratitude to the Crescent Turner Hotel for kindly donating the venue free of charge.
The team hopes this will be the first of many events to bring families together and continue supporting them through every step of their journey.
