Natalie trains with Karate Leadership UK and is working towards her second Dan Black Belt - a major step in martial arts.
She has chosen this challenge as an opportunity to raise money for the 3 Wishes Project at WHH, funded by donations to East Kent Hospitals Charity.
So far, staff have granted 222 wishes. These include bringing loved ones together in someone’s final hours, and creating keepsakes like handprints and photos.
To earn her belt, Natalie must complete:
4,000 push-ups
4,000 sit-ups
4,000 mountain climbers
Show skill in all the techniques and katas she has learned
Take part in a four-hour fitness drill, finishing with 1,500 punches and 1,500 kicks.
These must all be completed within just eight weeks.
Natalie said: “This process is as much about discipline, perseverance and focus as it is about physical strength. It’s a personal challenge that reflects everything I value both in my profession and in martial arts - commitment, consistency, and pushing through even when it’s tough.
“This is for a cause that means a great deal to me, which will keep me motivated through every part of the challenge.”
She has already raised her £250 target, but now hopes to raise even more.
